The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has declared today, Monday 7th, February as lecture-free day as it set to shut down federal universities.
According to the union, the reason behind its decision is due to the inability of the federal government to meet its agreement which led to the suspension of the ten months old strike in 2020.
ASUU National President, Prof. Emmanuel Osedeke urge its member to declare Monday 7th, lecture free day to enable the union have heart-to-heart talk in preparation to shut down public universities.
The union's president also added that if the federal government fails to meet its agreement, indefinite strike is possible.
