As the festive season unfolds, the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Delta State Chapter, has extended warm felicitations to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the State Executive Council, and the people of Delta State. In his goodwill message, ALGON Chairman Hon Chief Isaiah Esiovwa praised Governor Oborevwori's commitment to good governance, citing the state's ranking among the top 10 in the 2024 Governance Accountability and Transparency Index (G.A.T.I).
According to Esiovwa, "Under Governor Oborevwori's leadership, Delta State has witnessed remarkable achievements in various sectors, including infrastructural development, rural electrification, urban renewal, job creation and empowerment, healthcare, and education."
These achievements have been driven by the 25 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Delta State, which have worked in synergy with the state government to deliver people-oriented dividends.
The LGAs have also been committed to improving their internally generated revenue, ensuring financial stability and supporting Governor Oborevwori's innovative leadership.
Governor Oborevwori's vision for Delta State is to build a state where every citizen has access to opportunities and resources to thrive. This vision aligns with the biblical principle, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up" (Galatians 6:9).
As the festive season continues, ALGON Delta State Chapter has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the momentum of excellence in governance, working closely with Governor Oborevwori and the state government to achieve maximum results. Governor Oborevwori's administration has been marked by significant milestones, including infrastructural development, rural electrification, and urban renewal.
Since assuming office on May 29, 2023, Governor Oborevwori has kept faith with his pledge to run an open, responsive government that meets the needs and aspirations of the people of Delta State.
His administration's achievements have been recognized by various organizations, including the Governance Accountability and Transparency Index (G.A.T.I).
As the people of Delta State celebrate the festive season, he said, they are reminded of Governor Oborevwori's commitment to excellence and his vision for a Delta State where every citizen has access to opportunities and resources to thrive.
With the support of ALGON and the LGAs, Governor Oborevwori's administration is poised to achieve even greater heights in the coming year.
